Design And Build Quality
Geekvape Z RDA is a top airflow, dual-coil RDA with a unique design and excellent build quality. The Z series is specifically designed to be leakproof, and the new Z RDA does justice to this legacy. From an airflow perspective, it’s midway between a pure bottom airflow and typical top airflow RDAs that diminish the flavor.
With the openings on the side (airflow controller) augmented by the design of the top cap that forces the air down, it rises again through the coil, promising an exquisite flavor. It’s built for durability and style, and the finish is impeccable. The design places the coils quite close to your mouth, yet there is almost zero spit back.
Building on the Z RDA
The RDA comes with 4 N80 fused Clapton coils. Since they are an ideal fit, you may want to cut them down to 0.4-0.5mm. Once you’ve tightened the screws, use the screwdriver to “skewer” and align the coils so there is optimal distance between the two and they sit evenly over the square mounting.
If you are building your own coil, you increase the number of turns as well as the length of the conductor by going with a thinner wire. Try mimicking the overall dimension of the stock Clapton coils that come with the RDA.
Insert, trim, and adjust the cotton for facilitating maximum airflow, and soak it in e-juice before your first use.
Performance
Apart from the fact that this RDA doesn’t allow for squonking even though it’s ideally designed for it, everything comes together perfectly for an ultimate vaping experience. The flavor is amazing, especially for an RDA, thanks mostly to the coil placement and airflow. It produces a little whistling sound that you can mitigate by adjusting the airflow. It can hold a lot of liquid (without leaking, unless you tip it over), and if the stock drip tip is affecting your vaping experience, you can swap it for the Ultem 810.
Performance-wise, Geekvape Z RDA is heads and shoulders above most (not all) RDAs.
