There are so many choices out there that work in different ways and it can be easy to choose something too complex. Sometimes, I want something easy to use with plenty of capacity that still looks good. Design and Build Quality

Vandy Vape Kylin M Pro RTA

The KYLIN M PRO RTA is impressive, right out of the box. It comes in six colors: gold, stainless steel, matte black, rainbow, gunmetal, and frosted grey. It has a wide bore, black 810 resin drip tip that you can remove and switch for any favorite you may have.

Then, you’ll find the top filling ring, which is beveled and knurled for easy gripping and twisting. This ease of access makes a major difference, especially when smooth top caps are often too slippery to grip if even a little ejuice residue settles onto them.

Underneath the top cap is the expertly designed ridged airflow ring. It isn’t too loose or tight, meaning it won’t accidentally be knocked loose, but also won’t cause you to accidentally unscrew the tank. It can be rotated 90 degrees to expose one or two airflow holes that are 180 degrees apart.

The filling holes are located in the tank with plenty of room to fill the tank from the top and into the holes. This adds an additional nearly 2ml above the glass when the tank is filled up.

Build Deck & Wicking

Like the top filling ring, the build deck is nicely knurled for easy gripping. It provides two clamps to hold your mesh, two juice wells that have large inlet ports, and the insulator. It works with a spring-loaded mechanism that pushes the cotton into the arced coil. The tank is solidly built without any wiggle room and without risk of cross-threading.

The wicking is simple enough but does take a bit of trial and error to master. Like all mesh RTAs, it requires plenty of cotton, but the included laces are a bit much. Though they fit through, they create a lot of excess tension and should be reduced down by maybe 25% to fit cleanly. However, as is the case with all mesh RTAs as well, it is possible to get a dry hit if you don’t carefully size the cotton.

The KYLIN M PRO RTA comes stocked with two different types of coils. They are both A1 Kanthal, with one size in 0.15 ohms and the other in 0.2 ohms. The mesh sheet coils are affixed to the device with a single screw. The center coil pushes the cotton, which has been soaked with juice, against the heated mesh sheet coil. The result is a vapor loaded with flavor. The 0.15-ohm coil creates a hotter vape, but the flavor difference is negligible between the two.

To build the KYLIN M PRO RTA, you will shape your coil into the clamps provided on the deck. Tighten them with a screwdriver and test for performance with dry burns to identify any hot spots or glowing areas. When the coil is shaped, wick up the device and you are ready to go.

Performance

Overall, though there is room for improvement, this device is a fantastic option. It provides excellent flavor and density. It functions well, with great airflow that provides a bit of resistance without feeling excessive. By closing off the airflow half a turn, it is warmer, but more intense as well. Because of the density of the clouds, the tank capacity is absolutely needed.

As for the room for improvement, wicking is a bit of a hassle when trimming the cotton above the coil. Because of the air holes at the top, without trimming the cotton, the chamber is blocked and the result is a dry hit. It is also on the noisier side, which can be a bit annoying.

Verdict

The bottom line is that the KYLIN M PRO RTA is a fantastic deal. The build and cloud quality is certainly worth the hassle that most mesh RTAs also face. The tank size alone means that you should be able to go all day without a top-up.
